About This Course

This self-paced course, entitled "Telehealth and Telecare in Cancer: Empowering and Upskilling Patients & Caregivers Towards Best Practices," is designed as part of the eCAN Joint Action programme to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of patients and caregivers in navigating the evolving landscape of digital healthcare. As telehealth and telecare become increasingly integral to healthcare, especially during the COVID-19 era, this course aims to bridge the gap between traditional healthcare settings and remote medical support. The goal is to ensure participants are well-prepared to utilize these technologies effectively, with a focus on cancer care.

Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of telehealth tools, platforms, and best practices for managing cancer care remotely. The course will cover critical topics such as virtual consultations, remote monitoring, and the use of telecare devices. By integrating interactive sessions with theoretical knowledge, the curriculum empowers patients to take a proactive role in their health management and equips caregivers with the skills necessary to provide optimal support. Through real-life case studies and hands-on modules, this course ensures that both patients and caregivers can confidently engage with telehealth technologies, enhancing their trust in remote care and improving patient outcomes. Although the primary focus is on cancer care, the principles and skills taught are applicable to anyone interested in leveraging telehealth and telecare for improved healthcare management.
